Best Slack standup bots in 2026: prices, free tiers and who each one is for

A Slack standup bot replaces the daily standup meeting with a written check-in: it messages each person at a set time, collects the answers, reminds whoever forgot and posts or sends a summary. Almost every bot below does that part well. Where they differ is price, how generous the free tier is, whether they read your work tools, and what you get at the end of the day. Here are the bots worth considering in 2026, with prices and free tiers checked on each vendor's own site on 18 October 2026.

We make Eodly, so it is first on this list. Where another bot is the better fit, we say so.

1. Eodly

Eodly sends each person one Slack DM a day at 9:00 in their own time zone, imported from Slack. They reply in their own words, anyone who has not answered gets one reminder 45 minutes before your report time, and you get one report in the evening in Slack and on your dashboard.

The difference is what the report does with the answers. Connect GitHub or Linear and each update sits next to the work behind it: the merged pull request, the moved ticket. People who did the work but forgot to check in still count, and an update that keeps saying "almost done" while nothing moves is flagged for you to look at. It is exception-based, so you read the few things that need you rather than every reply.

  • Price: Free for up to 5 people, no card, with Slack, Telegram and Discord plus GitHub and Linear. Team is $29 a month for up to 10 people.
  • Best for: founders and leads of software or mixed teams who want to know what actually got done without asking.
  • Less suited to: teams that want custom questionnaires, polls or retrospectives. Eodly asks one update a day.

2. Geekbot

Geekbot is the best-known async standup bot. It runs "async standups, polls, and surveys right inside Slack or Microsoft Teams", and almost every list of standup tools includes it.

  • Price: free for up to 10 users with 3 months of history. Basic costs $2.50 per participant on the annual plan, or $3 paying monthly.
  • Integrations: Jira on the Enterprise plan. GitHub and Linear are not listed.
  • Best for: teams that want the standard, proven async standup in Slack or Teams.
  • Worth knowing: Geekbot lists Slack and Microsoft Teams only, not Discord or Google Chat.

3. DailyBot

DailyBot covers Slack, Microsoft Teams, Google Chat and Discord, and calls itself "one place for team updates, AI reports, and agent activity". It lists GitHub, Jira and Linear as connections.

  • Price: the free Starter plan has unlimited members but caps you at 50 compiled check-in reports per organization a month, with 14 days of history and no AI summaries. Essentials costs $2.40 per active user on the annual plan, or $3 paying monthly.
  • Best for: teams spread across several chat tools that want flexible check-ins, forms and AI summaries.
  • Worth knowing: a team checking in every day uses the 50-report free cap quickly.

4. Standuply

Standuply positions itself as the "#1 assistant for engineering leaders", with standups, reports and integrations for Jira, GitHub, GitLab and Bitbucket on the Team plan.

  • Price: the free Starter plan covers 3 respondents. Per-user pricing starts at $1.50 a month billed annually (up to 5 users), rising to $2.25 to $2.50 for larger teams, or a flat $149 a month billed annually for up to 200 employees.
  • Best for: engineering teams that want standups plus richer reporting on their dev tools.

5. Range

  • Price: free for up to 12 users and 2 teams. Pro is $8 per team member a month.

  • Price: free forever for up to 10 seats, 3 synced channels and 3 routines, with AI standup summaries. Standard costs $6 per seat on the annual plan, or $8 paying monthly, and readers are free.
  • Best for: engineering teams that live in Jira.

7. Standup and Prosper

A simple, Slack-only async standup with a genuinely generous free tier: the Community plan is free for unlimited standups and members.

  • Price: free. Paid support is $1 per standup user a month.
  • Best for: teams that want a free, no-frills standup in Slack.

8. Steady (formerly Status Hero)

Status Hero is now Steady, "the drop-in teamwork OS that keeps people and AI agents coordinated automatically". Pricing moved to credits.

  • Price: no free plan; each user added comes with 100 free credits. Paid starts at $25 a month for 500 credits, with unlimited users.
  • Integrations: GitHub and Jira.
  • Best for: teams that coordinate work across people and AI agents.

9. Polly, StandupBot and Tatsu

  • Polly is mainly a polls and surveys tool for Slack, Teams and Google Chat. Its free plan does not include standups; Basic costs $19 per license per month, paid yearly.
  • StandupBot has flat pricing instead of per seat: $19 a month for up to 20 active users, $49 for 50. No free plan, 14-day trial.
  • Tatsu is a Slack-only tool for moving discussions async, at $2.50 per participant a month. No free plan, 14-day trial.

10. Slack Workflow Builder

Slack's built-in Workflow Builder can post a scheduled prompt and collect replies, with no extra tool. It is available on Slack's paid plans only (Pro costs $7.25 per user per month on annual billing). For a small team that trusts each other and only wants the answers in one place, that is enough.
